By joining a MADATrek, you are signing up for change.  This trip is not a holiday, but a challenging, confronting and enjoyable journey to see how poverty in Madagascar is being addressed in a positive and sustainable way. It is a small group working trip that will educate you, stretch you and challenge your thinking. 

You will see Antananarivo, a beautiful, life-giving, bustling place, full of culture and diversity.

You will see the project in action and be involved in the life of the CLCs life during your visit.

You will be introduced to the Community and Learning Centre teams and see what motivates them to bring change to their nation through education in all areas of life at any age.

And of course, you will meet the children, the amazing students of the CLCs.

Trip Information

Inclusions:

  • Preparatory cultural orientation prior to leaving Australia.
  • Economy class airfares to and from Madagascar. (Cost and itinerary subject to change.)
  • All accommodation and meals for the duration of the trip (approximately 14-15 days), including three day’s resort stay on another Indian Ocean Island for briefing before and debriefing after visiting Madagascar.
  • Visa for travel.
  • Group debrief on returning to Australia.

Indicative Cost:

$7,500 per person ($11,100 per couple).
Or $5,700 per person twin share room (same gender).

Mandatory requirements:

A current Positive Notice Blue Card plus appropriate, current vaccinations for international travel to and in Madagascar.

If you are involved in education, youth work or childcare, the costs of this work-related educational trip may be eligible for tax-deductible status, subject to your accountant’s advice.
